NO MORE CAGES THWART* AB900 TEACH–IN

June 16, 2007, 1-6pm
PEACE BUILDING
8124 West Third Street L.A. CA 90048

On April 26, 2007 Republicans & Democrats in Sacramento betrayed the people of California.

In secret meetings with Schwarzenegger they decided to spend $1 billion to build 53,000 more prison beds.

No public hearings. No public input. No voice for the voters

We want our tax dollars spent for EDUCATION, HEALTH CARE, HOUSING,
and YOUTH PROGRAMS, NOT PRISONS!

PROGRAM

1:30-4p.m.

Presentations will provide a framework for allies to understand the existing impact of imprisonment on individuals, their families and whole communities, and the degree to which funds are diverted away from education, health care, housing and other social programs to expand the prison industrial complex. Speakers will address Assembly Bill 900 (53,000 new prison beds in California) in relationship to the everyday struggles they are already fighting and to drive home the point that "prisons are not the answer".
